A hallmarked silver compact of immense charm. This solid silver loose powder compact is handmade and unique. The lid has a repoussage decoration which have the appearance of sunflowers with ornate foliage. The niello background is the perfect contrast to the floral motifs and foliage. The lid lifts to reveal an excellent mirror and the original sifter which does not have any traces of powder. The powder well is the reverse of the hammered base. The base is hallmarked 'A W 800' (800 for the grade of silver). All clasps and hinges work perfectly. Measures approximately 6 cm diameter. Weighs 44.3 grams.
