These hand painted and parcel gilt Prie Dieu chairs are a handsome pair in nice order dating from around 1870.

The pair have a really striking shape and are most decorative with stout cabriolet legs with gilt highlighting to the carved detail and a bold out swept design to the tall backs. These are covered in an attractive gold plush velvet cloth with an ivory coloured braid. The frames and upholstery are in good sound condition and the chairs measure 90 cms high 52 cms wide 56 cms deep.
