Dating to the end of the 19th century, this German solid pine wardrobe / Cupboard is in very good condition and will dismantle down completely flat for ease of getting it upstairs.
Originally this would have been made as a marriage piece. If you look closely at the wardrobe you can see where it would have been original decorated and to the front top rail you can also see "ANNO" and the date 1886...
Standing on turned bun feet, the wardrobe has 2 plinth drawers which are all constructed with hand cut dovetail joints and both have later turned wooden knobs.
To the inside there are 3 later shelves fitted which are all adjustable up and down but if required a new horizontal hanging rail can be fitted for an additional £20.00. This is enclosed with a pair of panel doors complete with working lock...
All this is complimented with a beautiful ogee moulded cornice.......
This is a lovely piece of German antique furniture which would compliment the bedroom of any home traditional or modern.
There has in the past been a small amount of insect attack to the wardrobe but this is minimal and has been sprayed with a 20 year treatment.
The wardrobe measures
54.25 inches wide / 58.25 outside of cornice
19.25 inches deep max / 21.75 outside of cornice / 18.25 inches internal
80 inches high.
