German 800 Silver Serving Spoon with Gilt Bowl

This is a good quality German 800 Silver Serving Spoon with a gilded bowl. It is attractively decorated with flowers and scrolls on both sides of the stem and in the bowl. It dates to the late 19th or early 20th century
The serving spoon has a broad shallow bowl and may be designed for serving small cakes or pastries. It wouldn't hold very much liquid so almost certainly something dry. It is perfectly usable today or would make a nice addition to any collection.
Condition is very good with no dings, dents or damage and only the superficial wear that is to be expected after many years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The spoon is 21.7cm / 8.5" long and weighs a substantial 72.2g / 2.54oz of solid silver.
The spoon is marked on the back with the crown and crescent for German silver, 800 for 800/1000 grade silver, the German standard at the time and a small makers' mark which unfortunately we've not been able to identify.
Shipping in the UK is £6 by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
Overseas customers please ask us about shipping costs to your country before making a purchase.
