A handsome antique Georgian mahogany commode dating from circa 1820 which is now a lift-top cabinet. It has beautifully figured mahogany to the front and eight brass drop handles and stands on shaped bracket feet. This piece would have originally started life as a commode / chamber pot cupboard. The upper half lifts to reveal storage space inside, ideal as a shoe cabinet or for storage in a hall or bedroom.

General wear and marks commensurate with age. Some small splits to the mahogany veneer. The topt is slightly warped so doesn’t quite close fully on one side.
