George V silver sovereign case, Birmingham 1913
This charming George V solid silver single sovereign case was made by Thomas Bishton. Of circular form, both front and back profusely engraved with foliate scrolls. The front oval reserve vacant. The sprung hinged cover operated by a push button. Opens to reveal a spring loaded compartment. Suspension loop.
Hallmarks:
Inner cover fully hallmarked.
Sovereign frames with date letter and Lion Passant.
T.B for Thomas Bishton.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "o" for 1913.
Dimensions:
Diameter: 3cm / 1.2 inches.
Height including suspension loop: 4.5cm / 1.6 inches
