George V Perfume Bottle w/Silver & Enamel Lid 1923

This is a charming little George V Glass Perfume Bottle with a Sterling Silver and Guilloche Enamel lid. The bottle is oval with a flattened top and bottom. The silver lid screws off and reveals an internal glass stopper. The Guilloche enamel on the top of the lid is purple on a concentric engine turned pattern.
The perfume bottle was made in Birmingham by noted silversmiths Robert Pringle & Sons and dates to 1923. Robert Pringle started his business in London's Clerkenwell Road around 1870, with his sons joining the business in the mid-1880s. The company manufactured in London, Sheffield and Birmingham. They remained a family run firm until finally closing in the late 1950s. They made a wide range of silverware for domestic and personal use but are best known for their consistently good quality tableware and flatware.
Condition is very good, with no chips or cracks in the glass, no dings or dents in the silver and no damage to the enamel. The lid screws on and off smoothly and the inner glass stopper fits well. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The perfume bottle stands 6.1cm high and is 3.9cm wide. The silver and enamel lid weighs 2.8g and all in the bottle weighs 32.6g. It's a perfect size to slip into a handbag for a night out or to use whilst travelling.
The hallmarks, on the side of the silver lid, are nice and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter y for 1923 and the R.P makers' mark for Robert Pringle & Sons.
Shipping in the UK is £6.50 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For Parcel Post.
