A very high quality George III Cuban mahogany tilt top breakfast table raised on a gun barrel pedestal and elegant tripod base.. The one piece top is beautifully grained and has a lovely colour and patina. The table retains its original tilting mechanism and catch, there is a minor historic repair to the leg which is very difficult to see. The overall condition is very good. The table has an excellent provenance, originally in the collection of the late Captain Black of Prees Hall, Shropshire and for the past 50 years in another private collection. The simple, timeless elegance of this 18th Century table makes it a perfect piece for any interior.
