A very charming George III bureau
This very elegant Mahogany bureau is exceptionally heavy and solid, having a fall-front, opening to reveal a fitted interior of excellent quality, which consists of several pigeon hole compartments, small and long drawers , having a charming small central door flanked by classical columns, which pull-out revealing secret compartments.
Below are four long graduating drawers. The wood is rich and warm in colour, with a beautiful patina, which is only obtained with antique furniture of this age. With elegant oval brass handles. Each drawer has all locks and escutcheons present, and are oak-lined.
Freshly bees-waxed and polished.
Standing on bracket feet.
Very heavy, solid, sturdy and strong.

Condition The condition is very good, having expected signs of age and use for the age of the bureau. Very minor knocks and bumps, minor historical repairs. The brass handles appear to be replacement handles, are antique in age and of very excellent quality, with evidence/marks of previous handles to the front of the drawers, all of which shows the authenticity of the piece, and adds to the historical charm.
