George I Miniature Silver Toy Teapot David Clayton antique 18th century solid %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
An 18th century silver miniature teapot made by David Clayton, a maker famous for his miniature / toy silver utility items. A push on cover with steam hole, collet foot and coiled strap handle. Stamped with the lion passant and maker initials to the base and maker initials also to the cover, c.1725.

It measures 6cm (2 3/8") spout to handle, 4cm (1 5/8") wide and 4cm (1 5/8") high. It weighs 25g / 0.8ozt.

Condition is fair: there are a number of small shallow dents to the pot and the top of the handle has become detached from the pot. No splits or repairs and the marks are fully legible, just minor rubbing at the edges.
