A fine beautiful and elegant French Napoleon III period solid Mahogany and carved gilt wood Chest of drawers dating from c 1880. The top with rounded corners above two short and three long drawers with gilded edge mouldings and original gilt brass handles and escutcheons. The rounded corners with inset gilt grooves, the panelled sides with gilt mouldings. Below, a shaped skirt bordered by a shaped gilded moulding and centred by a carved gilt wood motif. The whole rests on elaborately carved gilt wood cabriole legs.
Excellent condition and colour with various minor scratches, marks etc consistent with age and use.
