French Louis XV Cartel Clock with three bells.

Description: Cartel clock Louis XV French with three bells entirely veneered and surmounted by a cherub figure, it is embellished with gilded bronze frames that fall in leaf motifs above the dial, which has Roman numerals.
The Cartel clock is a type of clock that was born in France at the end of the 17th century, during the reign of Louis XIV. The most acclaimed models are composed of two parts, the large clock and the base, called in jargon Coul de Lampe.
We can find them in inlaid wood, in Boulle inlay, in poor decorative lacquer, and in green horn.
However, signed on the front of the dial and on the rest of the mechanism by the Master watchmaker.
These clocks are large and were exhibited in the great French salons.
The rarest models are decorated with chiseled and gold-gilded bronzes surmounted by a figure.
General Condition: Mechanism to be overhauled.
Origin: France 18th century.
Measurements: 45x20 H110cm.
Document: Certificate of Authenticity.
