A very interesting small bronze figure of a cherub listening for a beating heart. The piece is mounted on a red veined onyx base, with the cherub in gilded bronze and the heart in patinated bronze. An obvious love token the item has a huge amount of charm. The piece is of a very high quality but sadly not marked as is often the case with smaller bronzes. The piece is wonderfully untouched and in great condition, there is some wear to the gilding and the slightest nibbles to the edge of the onyx but overall it looks like it has just come from a stately home. C.1890.
