Fine Pair of Japanese Meiji Cloisonné Vases
This is a exquisite pair of extremely fine Japanese cloisonné enamel vases of bottle shape with intricate wirework inlay depicting birds in flight above chrysanthemums on a black ground, Meiji Period c.1900. At a height of 30cm these are quite large vases for such intricate craftsmanship and they are in near perfect condition.
Dimensions: Height 30 cm x Diameter 12.5 cm.
Weight 758 & 729 g
Condition: One vase is in perfect condition, while the other is in near perfect condition. In the latter an uneven base has been corrected with thin plastic wedges and there is a single fracture line (but no losses) in the black enamel just above the narrow point close to the base. Otherwise, there is no damage, dents, fractures or losses to the enamel on either vase. Please note that there are reflections from the studio lighting (rectangular) and the ceiling florescent tubes (linear lines). Please contact David if you would like to view additional photographs or require more information.
Postage & packing: £12 within the UK. Please contact David if you would like a quote to send to an overseas destination.
