Edwardian Rosewood Bonheur Du Jour Writing Table
Here is an elegant Edwardian ladies writing table, bonheur du jour of excellent quality.
c1901.
This very pretty desk is made of rosewood having wonderful marquetry inlaid designs. The galleried super-structure has a central oval bevelled mirror, flanked by two cabinets with elegant marquetry inlaid doors, which open to reveal single shelved interiors. Each door has the original working lock with key.
The rectangular desk top has a gilt tooled leather inset writing surface, having two short drawers below, both fronted with very pretty and ornate marquetry, with turned handles. The rosewood has wonderful rich figuring.
Standing on elegant tapering supports, with boxwood stringing and castors.
