Victorian Dresser Style Silver & Glass Claret Jug
Fabulous Victorian Christopher Dresser style silver mounted and cut glass claret jug by Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd. Pretty globe shaped hobnail cut body with fine star cut base and cut rings around the top of the shoulders. An elegant silver mounted collar, spout and handle with clean, stylish lines. Hallmarked to the side and under the lid for Sheffield 1900 and makers mark for Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd.
It measures 18cm (7") high, 14cm (5 1/2") wide across the body and 15.2cm (6") including the handle. It holds 900ml to the cut bands so could squeeze up to a litre. Condition is very good with just light surface wear to the high points of the glass and the silver. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
