A decorative, carved pocket watch stand in the form of a fire surround.
Dating to circa 1900, the carved stand measures approx 21.5 cm (8.5 ins) high, by 17 cm (6.75 ins) wide at base, by 7.5 cm (3 ins) deep at base.
The watch aperture measures approx 4 cm (1.5 ins) in diameter.
It has a carved floral and leaf design to the front.
There is a suspension arm to the reverse.
I assume it was custom-made for a specific watch, as the holder appears to be designed to take a slightly slimmer pocket watch to normal.
