We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely stunning, highly collectable, extra large Throne armchair dated 1615 to the top with a large carved plaque of Richard the Lionheart along with various verses in Latin

A very good looking well made and decorative armchair with a super antiqued finish. The chair is ornately carved all over, they read as follows in order from top to bottom

The chair has been made to immortalize Kind Richard The Lionheart, this would have been a very expensive and fashionable piece in its day and it showed you were a true royalist
Condition wise for the period is sublime, this chair is so tactile, and the patina is to die for, think how many hundreds and maybe thousands of people have used this chair, how many centuries of love and use it took to get looking like this, if the age on the back rest is correct this chair is 410 years old! To put that in to context, the Declaration of Independence was signed 249 years ago so its 161 years older than the formation of the United States

If sold items aren’t collected within three months and no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit the item and payment.

We prefer collection on all items from Wimbledon SW19-3BE, If you have your own courier or wish to book the collection in yourself we are happy to accommodate you.
