This is an attractive mid 20th century Chinese circular hardwood low table with superbly carved & pierced sides standing on a ring shaped plinth with 15 short feet. The intricacy of the carving is simply outstanding, and its simulation of interwoven rope bound together at regular intervals confers a lightness to the piece which belies the heaviness of the wood. The table is probably made of Padouk, all of which is in the solid form.

Condition: This table is in excellent vintage condition with just a few marks as you would expect from a 50 plus year old item of furniture. The construction is very robust with all joints firm.
