Chester Silver Presentation Key

Marked for Chester 1931.
Presented to Alderman Drinkwater September 1931. West Orchard Congregational Church.
Lovely quality silver gilt is in great order. The inside of the box is in good order, the outside shows signs of wear.
Alderman Drinkwater JP was 3 times Mayor of Coventry an honorary Freeman of the city. It would appear that he was appointed an honorary life-governor of the RNLI, the highest distinction which they can bestow on an honorary worker. He raised over £10,000 for the institution.
