We have for sale a heavy WW1 period Charles Edwards silver arts and milk jug.
This heavy silver footed jug has a very attractive hammered (planished) finish combined with a geometric and almost art deco raised design reminiscent of a city skyline. The body extends to a lovely angular spout and a looped handle. The jug carries full English hallmarks for London 1917 along with the typically small Charles Edwards makers mark.
The jug is 3 inches (7.6cm) high, 5.25 inches (13.3cm) wide from handle to spout and weighs approximately 265g (about 8.5 Troy Ounces). The jug is in a very good to excellent condition other the light surface wear one would expect from a well cared for piece of silver dating from this period. The makers mark and hallmarks are all easily legible.
