Arts and Crafts Bookstand Side Table c1900
We have for sale a very pretty, incredibly useful and rather decorative arts and crafts oak Edwardian book stand side table.
This very attractive honeyed oak book stand side table consists of a lovely simple oak top extending to two slightly tapered supports/side panels, each of which are pierced with three graduated heart shapes, these are smaller towards the top and increase in size towards the arched feet. The side panels are then attached together by two stretchers arranged to form V shaped bookshelf. This is a table that could easily be placed by a favorite armchair so that both books and refreshing drinks are within easy reach.
The table is 20.5 inches (52c) high, 23.25 inches (58.8cm) wide and 15.75 inches (40cm) deep. This sturdy table has a true simplistic beauty, there are one or two marks to the top and a small repair towards the foot of one of the side panels - see photograph 4.
