AntiqueSilver SPOON & FORK Hallmark Sheffield 1876

A superb, antique, Boxed Spoon & Fork.
The fork hallmarked for Sheffield 1876, and with the maker`s mark for:- Henry Wilkinson & Co., Norfolk Street, Sheffield.
The spoon hallmarked for Sheffield 1893, and with the maker`s mark for John Round & Son, Tudor Street, Sheffield.
Beautifully decorated with the much sought after
Kings Honeysuckle pattern - see the honeysuckle on the handle ends and the back of the spoon bowl, an alternative to the more common shell pattern.
Although there appears to be two different makers, Wilkinsons will have made both pieces. Rounds will have bought unhallmarked sets from Wilkinsons to put their own marks on and sell as if made by them.
This family will, probably, have bought a second set, and the two
have become mixed up.
Excellent quality, and heavy gauge silver - no initials.
Perfect unused condition - no faults.
Fork length:- 162 millimetres / 6.38 inches.
Spoon length:- 147 mms. / 5.79 ins.
Silver weight:- 72.2 grams / 2.32 ounces.
