A most unusual and grand desk-top paper knife or page turner, measuring 12" in length, it's most unusual to see them completely in sterling silver, the blades are usually made from other materials.

The highly decorative handle is a joy with repousse decorations incorporating butterflies (see above and below the shield shaped cartouche).

The blade is beautifully engraved with a multitude of Ferns, very English and very Victorian. Both the handle and blade have a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1890 together with the makers initials for the top-notch and highly collectible silversmith, George Unite.
