This is a beautiful vintage sterling silver compact mirror pocket mirror with rose gold thumb catch made by the wonderful silversmiths W H Manton in 1941. A beautifully made good quality compact with a concealed hinge. The power well is gilded. It is fully hallmarked Birmingham Assay Office 1941. The original silver & gilded sifter is in place & it is also in good condition. The mirror is perfect & gives an excellent reflection. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. Measures: 6.5 cm X 6.5 cm & weighs 116.9 grams. This Art Deco compact is suitable for use with loose face powder or as a handbag mirror. Free lavishly illustrated history of this piece included.
