Antique Georgian Style Oak Dresser Base Sideboard

A very attractive oak dresser base of generous proportions and classic Georgian inspired design. The piece has a wonderful presence with its long low form, elegant cabriole legs and beautifully shaped apron.
Fitted with three drawers across the front, each with decorative brass handles, it offers practical storage while maintaining a refined and decorative look. The drawer fronts show pleasing variation in the oak with a rich warm tone that has developed nicely over time.
The shaped frieze with its flowing cut out detail adds lightness and character, contrasting well with the solid plank top above. Raised on well formed cabriole legs, this is a timeless design that works effortlessly in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Originally, dresser bases such as this were used in kitchens or dining rooms for preparation and serving, as well as for storing linens and tableware. Today it makes an excellent sideboard, console table or statement piece in a hallway or living space.
The oak has a lovely depth of colour and patina, giving the piece plenty of character and charm.
