Antique French Provencal Elm Dresser Housekeeper Buffet, c 1830

A wonderful and totally original mid 19th century elm dresser, from the French region of Provence.

The high back with a moulded cornice over three open shelves united by ring turned uprights, upon the base with an arrangement of three frieze drawers.

Four cupboard doors, applied with brass ring handles and punctuated by conforming ring turned pilasters to the base section. All surmounted and raised upon by six carved ball and claw feet. Very solid and sturdy with a sublime colour and patination. Very rare to find such pieces in solid elm.
