A fine antique Edwardian mahogany cylinder bureau with sliding writing surface over two frieze drawers, on square tapered legs. In a mellow golden mahogany it has a galleried top with stringing. The stringing is echoed on the cylinder top which has original knobs with flower motif. The two small matching knobs pull out the writing slide which is over two drawers. The slender tapering legs are also inlaid and culminate in their original pot castors. The interior is fitted out with pigeon holes, drawers and scalloped pelmets. It has a key and both the cylinder top and writing surface lock. An excellent quality piece in good condition. Dating from circa 1900-1910.
