Antique Carved Mahogany Bedroom / Nursing Chair
An attractive Victorian carved mahogany nursing chair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.
The chair sits on two turned legs at the front with carved tops and backward curved legs at the rear, the legs sit on ceramic castors.
The shapely carved backrest frame continues down to the rear sides of the seat pad with a decorative carving at the top. The chair has been recently upholstered in a green material.
The chair has a height of 32" (82cm) with a backrest height of 23" (59cm), a seat height of 13.5" (34cm), a seat width of 22" (57cm) and a seat depth of 16” (41cm).
This attractive chair remains in good solid condition with only minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage. The frame has minor wear to some edges, this is primarily to the legs that have some light indentations.
This remains a very stylish and elegant chair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
