This is an antique bonheur du jour. A French, walnut ladies writing desk, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.
Sumptuous colour and delightful figuring to this fine desk
Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
Walnut and Burr walnut stocks present fine grain interest
Dashing caramel hues beam beneath a quality wax polish finish
Low back rest adorned with brass gallery rails over two banks of small drawers
Each drawer dressed with small brass pulls, decorated in ornate manner
Superb marquetry enhances the writing surface, with book matched centrepiece
Shaped front apron hosts a generous lower drawer, with inset working lock — key present
Bowed hipline hosting long ormolu mounts with golden tonality
