An amazing Maurice Adams, Art Deco walnut wardrobe

This superb quality wardrobe is very stylish and is in very good and original condition with all original silver plated handles and locks. The wardrobe also has the makers label on the back. 1930mm high, 1830mm wide and 710mm deep. Circa 1930.
Maurice Adams saw himself as the natural successor to the great antique furniture makers of the eighteenth century and had ambitious plans for 20th-century British interior design, including a proposed 'Maurice Adams house', in which the architecture and interior furnishings would be designed entirely by Adams throughout, in a streamlined, Georgian style. All Adams's furniture was made by hand in Gloucester and displayed in Adams's showroom in Portman Square, London. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries. Now under the stewardship of Mark and his wife, Louise, we take pride in maintaining the high standards which William set more than 50 years ago.
W.J.Gravener Antiques are proud members of LAPADA, The London and Provincial Antique Dealers Association.
We offer an approachable and friendly service and we are always happy to hear from clients, both new and established.
