A rare 18th cent.Silver Cake or Pudding Slice. The scoop is profusely pierced and is Bright cut around edge and also along Handle which ends in finely turned Ebony knop.There are two Hallmarks which can be seen in Photos,I am pretty certain it is a Hamburg Assay Mark,the letter 'D' within the Assay Mark is the Date Letter,but so far unable to be precise as the dating is pretty complicated.Indications of Date can be seen on reverse at top of Scoop where it has been Prick Engraved with 'E.B.1783'.Overall condition is excellent with no scratches or 'dings.' c.1780. Dimensions:- 29cms overall. A rare find for the Collector. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antiques Emporium,Lewes,E.Sussex and also The Arcade, The Corn Exchange,The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells..If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in either Shop.
