A 19th century "stand alone" mahogany pedestal desk, beautifully finished all round, meaning that the desk can be placed in the center of a room. With nine oak lined, cock-beaded drawers to one side and nine dummy drawers to the reverse. The desk stands on plinth bases and retains its original turned wooden knob handles a brass escutcheons, the top has a molded and banded edge and inset green leather writing surface with blind and gilt tooling. In very good condition. 760mm high, 1350mm wide and 870mm deep. English. Circa 1830.
