6 x Vintage Silver Cake Forks, Viner's Ltd, 1965

This is a good heavyweight set of Vintage Elizabeth II Sterling Silver Cake Forks from the 1960s. We haven't been able to trace a name for this particular pattern which seems to be something of a cross between the Windsor and Silver Rose patterns but not quite the same as either!
The cake forks are made in a good heavy gauge of silver in Sheffield by Viner's Ltd and date to 1965. Viner's was started around 1900 and moved into Sterling Silver flatware and cutlery in the 1920s through to around 1970. The brand was bought by Oneida in the mid-1980s.
Condition is very good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 55 years of good service. The case is a little scuffed but the hinges and clasp are in good working order. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The cake forks are each 14cm / 5.5ins long and the set of 6, unboxed, weighs in a substantial 139.1g / 4.9oz of solid Sterling Silver.
The hallmarks, on the underside of the stems, are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the crown assay mark for Sheffield, the date letter X for 1965 and the E.V. makers' mark for Emile Viner of Viner's Ltd.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the set.
