19thC Carnelian Wax Seal Fob Knights Head Intaglio


Large heavy early Victorian gold cased carnelian intaglio seal, carved with a Knight’s head family crest and monogrammed initials below. Was probably originally carried on a fob chain but could also be worn as a pendant.
Dating to around 1850, the fob weighs approximately 23 grams and measures 39 mm high. The matrix is 26 x 21 mm and the stone 23 x 18 mm.
In good antique condition with only a little surface wear to the gold casing on the rim showing silver below. Currently shipping to UK and USA.
