A fine quality 19th Century walnut writing / sofa table with two drawers on the front and two dummy drawers on the back so the table can be freestanding in the middle of a room, the right hand drawer contains an adjustable leather writing slope which also includes a pen tray and ink well, as well as various compartments, the top is quarter veneered which creates a wonderful pattern, the base has a pair of fluted and carved columns terminating in swept and carved feet at either end united by a turned fluted and carved stretcher, the whole piece has a lovely honey colour. Circa 1860.
