A splendid late 19th century French kingwood bonheur du jour , or ladies desk in the Louis XVI style. Of fine construction with stunning book matched kingwood veneers onto a solid oak and mahogany carcas. Embellished with crisply cast ormolu mounts and strap-work throughout and surmounted by an ormolu gallery. With a pair of glazed doors (lockable, key supplied) opening to access a shelved interior. Beneath are a pair of small stationary drawers. With a pull-out writing slope, fitted with its original material writing surface. Sympathetically refinished in our workshops and now offered for sale in excellent condition, with a wonderful colour and patina.
