19th Century English mahogany Davenport, circa 1880 in date. In nice condition with a pierced and shaped gallery and an 'apple green' leather inset writing surface, having an opening fall front, to reveal a simple fitted interior. Also complete with a small hinged single writing drawer with a fitted pen tray and its original pottery ink well. The main carcase comprises of a bank of four opening drawers to one side of the desk and four 'faux' drawers to the opposing side. All supported via a set of sturdy turned bun feet with inset brass castors.

This well used 19th Century desk which has a nice original polished patina and condition throughout, that includes pleasing proportions and a simple characterful charm , yet still being a really useable piece of antique furniture.
