A rare large Chinese soapstone monkey group sculpture dating to the early 19th century, featuring seven intricately detailed monkeys scrambling over one another to reach a peach. The fur is finely engraved, and the eyes are highlighted in black, adding to the lifelike quality of the piece. The sculpture, measuring 35cm, showcases naturally occurring soapstone cracks and minor restoration, which are consistent with its age and material. This piece exemplifies the craftsmanship of the period, with the dynamic composition and attention to detail .
