Ahoy there! A great idea for the seagoing types, an oak ship’s swivel chair dating to the last half of the 19th century. the chair stands on a cast iron base formed of three lions. The cast iron base is very well-patinated and the leather seat has the best colour for early leather.

The chair is VERY heavy. There are two areas of damage to the leather at the back of the seat (not visible), a very old repair to the cast iron base above the lions, and two replacement bolts.

Chairs like this would often have been found in the dining room of 19th century ships.
