19C Victorian carved walnut armchair nursing chair
Antique 19C Victorian carved walnut spoon back nursing or parlour chair.
Quality, attractive chair, with no loose joints or wobbles.
Lovely legs with period brass and ceramic castors on the rear. The two front castors have been replaced with period brass examples (some wear to all castors as you would expect).
Great proportions and styling, which would look amazing in the right location.
The seat upholstery is recent, with no appreciable wear and only minor marks. The fabric is a lovely golden cream velvet dralon.
Overall maximum dimensions
56cmW x 58mmD x 91cmH (33cmH seat when sat on).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, repairs and alterations, as is always the way with antique furniture of this age. Historical repairs, as is the norm, but all is solid now. We have not inspected components concealed beneath the upholstery, but the seat is quite soft but comfortable without the typical lumps and bumps of an antique chair. There are some historical woodworm holes, which are believed extinct, that we have treated for good measure.
