An early Georgian side chair in oak. Normally found in walnut, this chair is a fine country example, with bold, well carved cabriole legs and pad feet. The strength of the design can be seen in the flowing curve of the back, which has a vase shaped central splat. In original condition and with excellent patina, this is a good understated 18th century chair.
