A highly ornate 17th Century wainscot chair,typical in shape & style from the north of England Yorkshire region. An elborate crest rail of scrolled roundels and tulip heads, central back panel again of flat carved stylised roundels with a central flower motif, an example of this chair with a very similar sense of carving detail & style can be found in V Chinnery`s book oak Furniture page 477 fig 4135 the above chair most probably came from the same workshop. Repairs & Replacements to chair which reflects price. see condition.
