Cased Victorian taxidermy the elusive cuckoo

Fairly rare cased taxidermy cuckoo.The cuckoo arrives in Britain late spring in nesting season they lay there eggs in native birds nests .The unsuspecting hen then brings up a large chick which tips the native chicks out of the nest on adult they migrate back to Africa hence the expression a cuckoo in the nest .although often heard with there distinctive call the are very elusive (not this one!The case and bird are in decent contions as you can see although there is a clearly visible water mark right hand lower corner
