Description

A pair of very large brass candlesticks in the manner of a 17th century Heemskerk. Cast in the solid and spun as the originals, made in pieces and on this occasion the makers have chosen to fit the base permanently to the lower stem instead of threading it. The top section is threaded and tightens on the drip ring so is still in 3 separable pieces. The inverted acorn pattern of knop is very much a third quarter of the 17th century progression from the ringed knop of the smaller pair in the photo to show their comparable heights. The shorter pair are the average size for this type of candlestick.
