Description

The shear elegance of Georgian silver is so evident here, these spoons are just beautiful. They are all initialled C L on the ends in a handsome script, presumably the first owner, but if they are not your initials don't let that stop you enjoying them. There is no date letter but that is not unusual, when small items are part of a large suite of anything only the larger being marked. They bear the head of Geo 111 and stylistically date around 1800-5 and the makers mark is known only from a spoon and a tea service dated 1800 and 1809 but their name is not known. His or her initials are J M shown in earlier script as I M. They are Edinburgh, again not marked but the makers mark doesn't appear elsewhere.
