Description

This is a truly huge trug or basket, it's sitting on a full sized joint stool which should give a clue as to its magnitude. It is traditionally made from a single sheet of steel folded up and wrapped round a heavy wire frame and has a blacksmith made handle. It has been painted and decoupaged, then aged very satisfyingly. I don't know who the artist was or how long ago but I admire the quality of the work. I feel this is really a wonderful item to incorporate into a display setting rather than recreating the struggle of the original users.
