Description
A stunning and rare Circus plate designed by Laura Knight for the 1934 Harrods and 1935 Art in Industry exhibitions. The front image is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, paint loss or restoration guaranteed. On the back of the plate on the crease of the well there is a very thin 7cm firing split/scratch from the kiln which does not extend to the front. Difficult to photograph as barely noticable, but please look closely at the photos as they form part of the description. The price reflects this fault although the front is absolutely perfect. The plate has a nice ring when tapped. Full marked to the base with signature. 23cm (9") diaDate1930s :
