This item is an extremely unusual Victorian Silver Vesta Case in the form of a Cigar Case by Birmingham makers Mills & Hill and is dated 1890. The reason its unusual its believed to be a salesman sample or test piece, although it is still fully hallmarked, its in a miniature version and measures 2.2 cm high, 1.6 cm across and 0.6 cm wide. The measurements include the suspension loop. Its perfectly formed as a cigar case, and the loop performs as a hinge and opens beautifully from the base. If anyone else has any other ideas Id happily listen to them. It weighs 3.76 grams.
