VAD Voluntary Aid Detachment Sussex 40 Dated 1914 Presentation Dish by S & Co. Lovely rare piece of World War One memorabilia from the VAD Voluntary Aid Detachment Sussex 40 division. VAD was set up so civilians could be used as nurses during the WW1. This has the enamel badge within the centre. Pieces from this side of the war effort on the home front are very unusual. Once it was silver plated but has sadly worn off made by S & Co. It measures 9.7 cm in circumference.Shipping information
